After Care Information
Going through the piercing healing is a journey. It is not always an easy one either. Even if you have had other piercings in the past. So many other factors can affect the healing process of your new piercings.
Some easy steps to help, DRINK WATER!! This one seems so easy but so many of us do not drink enough water. Keeping the skin healthy from the inside is the 1st best step you can take for a smooth healing journey.
Second, take a multi vitamin and stay away from fatty foods. These foods can make our skin oily and can impede the healing process.
When in doubt, please contact me so we can trouble shoot anything you may be experiencing with your new piercing.

The 1st Week
It is normal for there to be some bleeding, redness and/or bruising over the next week after getting your piercing. No nothing for the first 72 hours, letting the body start the initial healing process. After this, make sure to give it a good clean in the shower and use saline wound wash to rinse your piercing once a day for the next 3 weeks.
Do NOT use Alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or bactine on your piercing. These products are way to harsh for a fresh piercing and can lead to chemical burns.

Weeks 4 - 8
At this point, the crusties are slowing down and we do not need the saline anymore. A good shower rinse should be good enough. Remember, No Touching or Twisting your fresh Piericng. Just because it does not hurt, does not mean it is "healed". We are at least on a good start to the healing process.

Month 2 and 3
Time to DOWNSIZE!!!
Downsizing is a newer part of the healing process and is a very important one. We do not know how much your body will swell to a certain piercing. We use a standard to size to adjust for this, usually around 2 to 3 months into healing, the swelling is down enough that the jewelry is long and getting in the way, preventing the piercing to finish out the healing process. The channel need to use collagen to build a fistula so you can have a permanent placement for your new sparkle.

6 months in....
Yay!! Your piercing is almost healed!! What.. ALmost?!?! My piercing feels fine?
At this point, most piercings are healed enough to be able to put a ring on it or put a shorter post on to be more fitted for the anatomy. But if you where to leave the jewelry out for a couple of weeks at this point, you risk your piericng shrinking and closing up

It has been a year, is my piercing healed yet?
Some piercings, such a the Daith, Rook, Tragus, Helix and Nipples can take longer to heal and usually about a year. This is very normal with the thicker tissue in this locations.

2 year Later.....
You should have a beautiful fully healed piercing at this point in this piercing journey. If you left the jewelry out for a few months, you should still have a channel is place for when you want to bring it back to life. The Nostril, and Lip piercing can go against the grain on this one
